This is Joshua Peterson with Peterson Electric. We are out here in Greeley, Colorado on a Saturday night for an emergency call. The compliant were received was there was a smoke and smoldering smell. There was something that shorted out inside. We came over here to look at where the breaker is. This place has 8 different panels. This homes is probably no bigger than 1,800 to 2,000 square feet, but it has been divided up back 30 years ago with 3 separate meters. Here is the thing, I wanted to tell you something real quick to be a little cautious when renting to make sure that the property’s electricity and the circuits on the back side inside these panels are divided up. If you have 1 meter and 3 tenants. Technically to the state of Colorado, they have to divide up the electricity. How they divide that up, I am not sure. If a family of 3, a family of 1 or a family of 5 renting, then it can change. You are not sure if circuits are shared how much you are really paying, if the downstairs person is a little cold than the upstairs person. The other thing, is you would like that these utilities are completely separate the way all these conduits are. I will show you on the inside. You can see right here as well, we have one, two, three, four, a whole bunch more of panels and they were divided. This place looks like it was built in the 40s. What I am trying to say is that we do walk to let you know how the electricity works. Sometimes renting something like this with this amount of power every where, but there is three separate units can be an issue for your utilities bill if things aren’t divided up correctly. Thanks for joining us. Give us a call.
