Joshua with Peterson Electric here in Loveland Colorado. As you can see behind me, their request was to get outlet above the fireplace mantel in order to service their TV, which is going to be a bracket mount. We had to go cut through here, all the way down the drywall to “fish” an outlet and all the way over to this outlet. There was no way to get that “fished” in due to the studs. We were lucky because there is usually not an outlet up near the mantel, it is always down below. We had to “fish” up across and over. Some people say let’s just go in the attic, well this house had such a low pitch on a roof, there was no way we could crawl back in that frame and get the wire up through the ceiling and back down. Wanted to show you how I makeup my connections, when I get 3 to 4 wires in these nail on handy boxes, I put in these 567 quick connects, make up our black, white and red. In this box, we have cloth wiring and it has no ground on it. Though we are going to try to ground this out with the ground wire here, attaching it to the ground side on the receptacle. It still is not going to any bonding on that. We have to either “fish” a wire in or drill it through the back of the house and take that around to the panel or run a brand new circuit. We do simple jobs like this.
