If you are not getting any kind of spark that means it is dead. I am actually testing this hot. If I put my meter her to here, I should have 240 or 220 volts. It is a nominal voltage. The other thing is that if you aren’t getting voltage here, you should always check your thermostat on the wall to turn it on and off. This is your switch. IF you are servicing and you don’t know how to, you might want to go to your breaker and turn it off, as well. We did find one baseboard heater in this room that was not working. How we figured that out was we took the connection points on both sides of this element, right here, and we metered it. We had zero ohms. It should read a 150 watts on something this long.
